Broken and scarred headstone leaning against the East wall.       In affectionate remembrance of Charles BURGESS died March 8th 1878 aged 41* years “Watch and pray for ye know not when your time cometh” Devoted husband and father.  *Internet research.

The burial location or how it was broken is not known.

DUNNING K

Small Cross (part of shaft broken – symbolic?). In loving memory of Kathleen the dearly loved youngest child of John Henry and Jane DUNNING of Court Barton who died Feby 18th 1892 aged 6 years.  “Lost awhile our treasured love gained forever safe above”

Cross and kerb (which has been displaced).   In treasured memory of Maria wife of George TROTT who fell asleep at lvy House Ham March 31st 1916.  And George Trott died 2 Aug 1887.  “Erected by Rosa & Edmund”.

Large headstone.     Sacred to the memory of John D. DUNNING who died at Court Barton on the 2nd November 1866 aged 53 years.  “The memory of the just is always blessed”  Prov 10.C.V “As a testimony of her high esteem his widow dedicates this marble”.  Also Elizabeth Mary Dunning wife of the above who died Nov 16th 1909 aged 88 years.  “Them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him” 1 Thess 4.14

Dunning’s are also commemorated on the church font cover.

Cross on three stepped plinth.  In loving memory of Blanche Strangways DUNNING who died June 27th 1893 aged 34.  “Not as as I will but as thou will”.   Also Emily Dunning died August 25th 1934 aged 85.

Dunning late of Court Barton Creech St. Michael.  “Thy will be done”.  Also of John Henry Dunning the dearly loved husband of Jane Dunning who died at Thurloxton Nov 16th 1917 aged 71.

Rustic block headstone with a carved dove.     On a scroll.  In treasured memory of Florence E.M. Trott who fell asleep in Jesus at Ivy House Ham Dec 2nd 1918.  “Sleep on beloved until the dawn”.  Erected by Rosa & Edmund.  And her beloved sister Rosa Jane Trott died Nov 7th 1953.

White stone kerbing and white decorative gravel.   With a Sloping Stone ‘our parents’ William George DREWE died 30 Oct 1942 aged 52 and Beatrice Bertha Susan Drewe died 2 Feb 1957 aged 61.   Within the kerbing is a black tablet inscribed as an open book; Norman Roy Drewe 23 May 1923 – 2 Jan 2010  and Marion Phyliss Drewe 13 Sept 1926 – 24 Feb 2010                  This memorial has been completely renovated (circa 2010)

Large raised Coped Stone.     R.H. CHIDGEY Esqr: died 12 March 1868 aged 64.  “This tomb was erected by the wish of his two sisters”. And his sister Elizabeth SEARLE died 31 March 1892 aged 77.

Headstone which is flaking at the back (is set back from the general alignment).  In loving memory of William CHESTON who died January 9th1902 aged 59 years.  Also of Eliza Cheston widow of the above who died February 26th 1908 aged 75 years. Also Thomas Cheston who died December 7th 1888 aged 74 years.  “At rest”

Stepped base, no trace of cross.  In loving memory of our darling baby.  Frederick PRESS died 25 April 1903 aged 11 months.    This small grave marker is now almost overwhelmed by a tree growing very close by.

Headstone.     In loving memory of a dear wife mum and nanny Jean DURHAM. 4 March 1937 18th October 2001  “loved and remembered every day”

Headstone.     Sacred to the memory of Mary wife of Thomas BURGE of this parish who died Jany. 24th 1847 aged 88 years.  Also of Thomas Burge husband of the above who died Sept 27th 1854 aged 91 years.  Also their grandson John Burge died Dec 28th 1855 at Priors Wood Taunton aged 29 years.  Also Charlotte Burge relict of John Burge and mother of the above late of this parish died May 8th at Mortimer Berks. aged 76 years interred in this vault May 15th 1868.  “Renewed 1900″  (the comment suggests the stone is a replacement but it is flaking at the back).

Headstone surmounted by a cross.     Severely cracked in various places.  In loving memory of Christopher HUBBARD who died Jan 7th 1902 aged 83.  “A faithful servant of Christ”.  And  Sarah his wife who died Sept 7th 1897 aged 72.
