Hi Rachel and all! Looks like fiber is'coming to the Henlade exchange during Dec 2013. The new phone junction boxes in Creech suggest that they might even be bringing fiber all the way into the village which will mean even better speeds. Dunno if the fiber will be going out as far as Creech Heathfield but this will mean improvement for us all, whatever. I imagine there will be some outages in between now and then as they fiddle. It's good news, basically

I too would be interested to know what BT's plans are. I live in Creech Heathfield and the broadband speed is pretty poor at times. Living so close to the County Town it is frustrating to travel into Taunton and experience the fast speeds in town and then return home 3 or 4 miles back to sluggish performance. Perhaps someone needs to start a petition? I have already registered my interest with BT and everybody else in the area needs to - after all this is 2013!

Rachel,
The short answer is no. If you go on this site; www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when putting in your postcode will show that the Henlade exchange is not on the list for upgrade. However I have recently had a notice to say that my broadband line had been upgraded. Since then I have not had any drop outs and a more consistent connection. This is not part of the fibre option. One hope for early upgrade of the Henlade exchange is that I understand that the exchange serves various businesses in and around Junction 25 on the M5 - Blackbrook Business and Hankridge Shopping Centres can considered to be good candidates for faster service. We may benefit if this is the case but it is pure speculation at this time. The Taunton Exchange has been upgraded and various green roadside boxes have been emblazoned with a poster to say that FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) has been installed. As you can tell Rachel I am like you very interested in getting a faster service. You can also try www.bt.com/infinity to register an interest. Regards

Mrs Hitchen,
I took the liberty to contact WebberBus to answer your query. They responded to say that they do not have a contract with anyone. It is a purely commercial operation. As a bus user I enjoy the fact that we have a regular service and hope that more people support their 15A/27 service Regards

Hi Marvin The Parish Council are currently discussing appointing a caretaker primarily to look after the Recreation Field, but possibly also for other general duties in the parish. I am putting together a job description and job advertisement for discussion at the next Parish Council meeting early January, when the council will discuss and vote on if we go ahead with this position. If we do decide to appoint a caretaker we will advertise throughout the village on noticeboards, the facebook CSM site and this website & the Parish Post if the timing of an edition co-incides. If you are interested, do feel free to contact the parish clerk clerk@creechstmichael.net with your details and we will ensure you are contacted if and when the position is advertised. I do hope this helps. Clare Sampson (Parish Councillor - Chair Person)
