What is happening to our bus service ?
We seem to have two services at the moment and rumours abound.
I await your reply.

Langaller road closure
As we have no footpath between Creech Heathfied and Creech I propose a temporary 30mph speed limit during the work time, our road has now been turned into a potential death trap for those of us that walk it each day.

First bus told me today they have received no complaints about their timetable . Might I suggest that people write in to Lee Jones, the operations manager, to give him some idea of what we need eg. a bus to bring workers home , after 5.30pm and student requirements, Somerset college and Huish.

Brian,
The two services will not last.
Webberbus, who have been the operator for the last few years have had difficult times. Firstbus have seen the passengers grow for Webberbus and have decided that they can compete in a commercial market.
The two services are vying for the same passengers and WebberBus being the smaller operator have made a decision based on market share to stop running the popular No 27 service from Creech Heathfield to Musgrove Hospital from the 8th of September.
According to David Fothergill FirstBus will continue to run the No 26 to their present timetable, which is not comparable to the current operator. A less frequent timetable is shown in their brochure with no straight through bus to the hospital. But they have suggested to Councillor Fothergill that the times will be 'reviewed' depending on demand.
We hope that they will be true to their word.
The opinions expressed here are my own.
