Nov 2010 Parish Councillor Eileen Webb Passes Away | 2010-11-21 15:02:40
It is with sadness that Creech St Michael Parish Council has lost one of its long term Councillors on 18th November, when Eileen Webb passed away very peacefully. Eileen Webb had been on the Parish Council for nearly 32 years and was Chairperson for 7 of those years. She was a font of all knowledge having lived in the village for over 40 years. Her dedication and hard work throughout her time on the Parish Council was invaluable. She always had the whole of the parish’s interests at heart and was not afraid to ‘rock the boat’ if something was not right for the community. There will be a service at Taunton’s Crematorium on Friday, 26th November at 1.30pm. Any other details will be updated on once known. Jill Loader - Creech St Michael Parish Council Clerk |

Nov 2010 Vote for high speed broadband in Creech | 2010-11-02 15:00:40
You may have seen in the local paper that “Broadband speeds are set to accelerate” as Taunton is to be connected to BT’s fibre broadband network by 31st December 2011. That of course applies to the Taunton exchange not those surrounding Taunton such as Henlade. As I understand it for BT to consider connecting other exchanges 75 % of the line connections to the exchange need to request it. You can register your request by going online to www.racetoinfinity.bt.com When you go on to the website do not enter your postcode on the first page but click on SKIP TO MAP and enter it on the page that comes from that then click vote and follow through. At the moment of the 1734 line connections only 16 have voted! Probably because most people don’t know about this. So tell all you know using the Henlade exchange, or indeed others, and encourage them to vote. BT is a business so mostly only responds to demand. Lets see the number of votes increase to over 1301 to let BT know we are here and don’t want to be left out of this development. David Browse |
