Are we still having fibre broadband at the end of the year? All has gone quiet. How do we obtain it?
Thanks

It may be worth pointing out that you will only be able to get this if you are a BT customer. Unfortunately BT will have the monopoly until sometime next year when other providers will be able to use it. Hence the current fast speeds. These will probably diminish as others get access.

Fibre Broadband Update:
I have just had my Fibre Broadband upgraded today at my house, and after talking to the BT engineer, it appears that many
people just think that having fibre broadband connected to the village in the Green BT cabinets, that they will automatically
be upgraded to a higher speed on there home computers.
This is not the case, as you have to have a Fibre Broadband Receiver Box fitted to your phone line inside the premises.
You will have to apply to your internet provider in my case Talk Talk for a package that will include Fibre Broadband.
You must make an appointment, which you can do on the internet, or phone, via your provider.
They will send a BT Open Reach engineer to call, and install a broadband box to your main phone line, and plug it into your computer.
The price packages for the broadband upgrade will differ from one provider to another.
The installation is free with TalkTalk at the moment.
My Broadband speed has increased from just under 4mb up to 32mb with the new Fibre Broadband.
I hope this information will help answer some of the questions.

Hi Tony,
I have spoken with BT and ordered my upgrade (BT Business broadband) and he said that it should also be available for residential as well.
They are not running fibre connections actually to your property initially so it will run over copper to the new fibre boxes that have been installed around the village. This will still give you up to 76Mb download speed though depending on what package you go for.
My install date is 6th Jan.
