A G E N D A for an additional meeting of Creech St Michael Parish Council

to be held virtually using Zoom [Join Zoom Meeting ]

at 7.00pm on Tuesday, 23rd June 2020

This additional meeting of CSM PC is being held in order to consider the proposal to have a Unitary Council for Somerset.

(The Public and Press are welcome to observe the meeting. Please see notes at the bottom of this agenda).

1. Chair’s welcome.

2. To receive any apologies for absence.

3. Declarations of Interests. 3.1 Declarations of Individual Members.

4. To receive a presentation from Cllr David Fothergill Leader of Somerset Council on the case for

a Single Unitary Authority for Somerset. To be followed by Ques and Ans to 8pm.

(5 Min break until 8.05pm)

5. Councillor Federica Smith-Roberts, Leader and Cllr Mike Rigby (Portfolio Holder – Planning and

Transportation) of Somerset West and Taunton Council to outline their position on the local

Government debate. To be followed by Ques and Ans to 9pm.

6. CSM PCllrs to discuss and agree CSM PC position on the local Government debate.

The next CSM PC mtg is on 6th July 2020 at 7pm. A planning meeting will be held on Aug 3rd 7pm (if required).

IF permitted these will be held in Cttee Room, CSM Village Hall otherwise they will be held virtually using Zoom.

Members of the public are welcome to join the virtual meeting and listen to the discussions but will be muted to reduce background noise. There is time set aside after each speaker for questions. If as a member of the public you would like a question to be put to either speaker please submit in writing ahead of the 22nd to the Clerk via clerk@creechstmichael.net . The question will be read by the Clerk and the reply can then be heard.

In the event that the number of questions exceeds the time allocated a reply will be sent to unanswered questions following the meeting.

If the same or similar question is submitted by a number of people a representative question will be asked.

The PC may decide to ask any or all members of the press or public present to leave the virtual meeting.
